The fourteenth novel in Ian Rankin's best selling series featuring bad boy cop John Rebus, the story revolves around a horrific shooting at a private school. Two students, one a cousin of John Rebus, are dead, a third student wounded, and the ex-SAS army officer who shot them commits suicide immediately after. To complicate matters, a burglar, who was stalking Rebus' partner, is found burned to a crisp and Rebus has badly burned hands and was seen leaving the burglar's house the night of the fire.
I didn't find any boring passages in this book, it just keeps moving.
This is my first time reading Ian Rankin. It won't be the last. This is the kind of story that cop movies or TV shows are made from.
